Counseling4Kids provides care for foster children in cooperation with Dept of Child Services (DCS)

Counseling4Kids began in 1997 serving 300 children

Now they serve 600 kids. About one half are in the East S F Valley.

They have 75 therapists who are licensed health care professionals. Not simply interns as many groups do. Since they started in 1997 the y have helped 11,000 kids

600 kids guest weekly treatment mental health services. Therapists often go to the homes of clients

Treatment is the only way to assure consistency and it reduces stress on parent

Scott showed another video clip entitled “Away From Home: Monica's Story” Part of a series called OUR AMERICA.  Counseling4Kids provides a trauma program for children ages 0 to 5 years. Their clients ethnic makeup is  55%  Latino or Afro American.

 

Scott needs volunteers to be board members, advisory committee members and donations.
