The Mid SFV Rotary Club inducted Salvation Army Captain Judy Rockey as its
newest member. Beth Ullman, who originally invited Judy to join our Rotary
club, said a few words before Martha officially inducted her. "It has been
a delight to get to know this lady from the moment we met her at our
Demotion Party. She and her husband had just taken over the reins at the
Salvation Army the week before, so we were lucky enough to 'grab' her
before anyone else could!. Judy was a chef for many years (a talent I hope
we get to tap!) before joining the Salvation Army and dedicating her life
to help others. The more I know her, working on projects at the Salvation
Army and for our club, the more I see how beautiful she is, inside and
out. Please help welcome her into our family, because we are a family."
Using Rotary materials, Martha created a lovely induction
ceremony, explaining what was expected of Judy as a Rotarian.
After the induction, Judy thanked Martha, and noted Beth and
others have helped with their re-entry program, plus she and Roz both have
been helping her sort and price jewelry for the thrift store. In addition,
the men there helped with a project Marc spearheaded for the West Valley
Police Memorial Motorcycle Ride.
