Taste of the World dinner and fundraiser was held Oct. 25.  Casual, low cost ($20/person) with an international menu, it was very affordable and a lot of fun.  It was used as a club social, a way to introduce potential members to Rotary, and as a small fundraiser.

In addition to a raffle with both prizes and a 50-50 drawing, we had 5 vendors there who gave us 20% of their sales.  One also donated a painting worth $500, which we plan to auction off at a larger event later in the year. As our small club has members who were born in 8 different countries, and whose family backgrounds include a dozen more, it seemed particularly appropriate to have each member bring a favorite ethnic dish and show the international flavor of Rotary.  We raised over $2,000 even though this was primarily a club social, of which half was sent to the Rotary Foundation for PolioPlus.
