LAPD West Valley Boosters Gets Assist from Rotary and Salvation Army Volunteers
On Saturday August 30, 2010 the 3rd Annual Memorial Ride was held to raise BOOSTER funds and to honor the Police Officers who died or were injured in the line of duty. Some 400 motorcyclists pre-registered with about 30 more last minute entrants.
LAPD, CHP, and Sherifs Department provided escort and traffic control.

The ride began at the West Valley Police Station and, after taking Las Virgines Cyn to PCH, ended at Paramount Studios in Hollywood. Volunteers from Mid SFV Rotary Club
along with 8 volunteers from the salvation worked to get the huge parade parked in record time.

Food was served on New York Street backlot location along with  entertainment on the Chicago Downtown Location.

Mid SFV Rotarians Marc Tapper and Liat Cohen organized the vendors and the m/c riders to their assigned parking and set-up spaces. Newly inducted Rotarian,  Capt. Judy Rockey of the Salvation Army  recruited the volunteers.

" On behalf of our Rotary Club I would like to personally thank volunteers Corey W., Ean S., Ulises L., Mike M., Jason H., Don L, Randy F., Brian C., and driver Joe C. for their help and cooperation, said Rotarian Marc Tapper, Event Parking Coordinator." The Reseda H.S. LAPD Cadets also assisted.

This is just one way Rotary comes together with the community we live in.

According to Melody LeBlanc, Site Manager, "This is the smoothest the ride has ever
been handled mainly because of the work of the volunteers. Thanks to all of you."
